Am I a suitable candidate for breast augmentation?
Breast augmentation is aimed at women with amastia or small breasts, asymmetry, dysplasia, subcutaneous mastectomy for preventive reasons or as part of reconstruction, after a pregnancy or weight loss.
Breast augmentation is usually done under general anesthesia, although in recent times it is also possible to combine local anesthesia with neuroleptanesthesia. Augmentation is done by putting a round or drop-shaped implant of cutting-edge cohesive silicone, which is totally safe for the body, or through the lipotransfer process.
How is breast augmentation carried out?
Before the operation we will have to obtain a detailed medical history and to carry out a clinical examination (palpation of areas, weight measurement, body fat measurement, BMI). Is breast augmentation painful?
The operation is almost atraumatic, and there are no drains. The pain is mild and can be helped with painkillers, while the mild swelling subsides in the next 1-2 weeks. A special bra is not required. You may return to your everyday life in the days following the operation, but weight lifting is prohibited.
How long do results last?
Results usually last for 10-20 years, if weight remains stable and there are no complications.
